Terms and Conditions

Terms of Service

The SageWork School of Awareness Operated by SageWork LLC, United States Effective 17 August 2026

Welcome. These terms describe how our school works and what you and we agree to when you use it. We have tried to write them plainly.

1. Who we are

This website, www.sagework.life, and The SageWork School of Awareness are owned and operated by SageWork LLC, a limited liability company organized in the United States ("SageWork", "we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, purchasing anything, or otherwise using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Your account

You need an account to access most of what we offer. You agree to give accurate information when you register, to keep your password to yourself, and to let us know if you believe someone else is using your account.

Your account is personal to you. Please don't share your login, and please don't let others use your access. Accounts are not transferable.

You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.

3. What we offer

We offer three kinds of things:

Membership. A recurring subscription, billed monthly or annually, that opens the Daily Cup, the library, the community, and the other member areas for as long as it is active.

Courses and programs. Individual purchases — some self-paced and recorded, some live gatherings held on particular dates.

Free material. Articles, podcast episodes, and other things we publish openly.

What is included in each is described on its own page. We may add, change, or retire material over time. Where a change would meaningfully reduce what you have already paid for, we will tell you.

4. Payment

Prices are shown in US dollars and are charged at checkout through our payment processor. You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide.

Membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. We do not pro-rate partial periods.

If a membership begins with a free trial, we will tell you the length of the trial before you start it, and your payment method will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first.

Courses and programs are one-time purchases. Access begins when payment clears.

If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.

5. Refunds

Because courses and programs deliver their material immediately on purchase, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds. Please read the description of anything before you buy it, and write to us if you have a question — we would much rather answer it beforehand.

Two exceptions:

  • If we cancel a live gathering outright and cannot offer you a comparable date, we will refund what you paid for it.
  • If you were charged in error — billed twice, or charged after a cancellation took effect — write to us and we will make it right.

Membership is not refunded for unused time in a period, but you can cancel at any point to stop the next charge.

Nothing here removes any right you have that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

6. What you may and may not do with the material

Everything we publish — recordings, writing, practices, images, and the site itself — belongs to SageWork LLC or the people who licensed it to us.

When you buy or subscribe, we give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use that material for your own practice, for as long as your access lasts. That is all it is: permission to use it yourself.

Please do not copy, record, download (where we haven't provided a download), republish, resell, or share the material, and please do not use it to teach or train others commercially without our written permission. Please do not use it to train machine learning models.

If you post something yourself — a comment, a question, a reflection in the community — it stays yours. You give us permission to display it where you posted it.

7. The community

The Circle and other shared spaces are for practice and companionship. Please be kind. We may remove anything, or close an account, where someone is harassing others, posting material that isn't theirs, advertising, or otherwise making the space unsafe. We would rather have a conversation first, and usually will.

8. Live gatherings

Live sessions happen on set dates and are limited in size. If we need to move a date, we will give you as much notice as we can and offer you a seat at the new one. If you cannot attend a session you have booked, let us know — where a recording exists, we will normally share it, but we cannot promise one for every gathering.

9. What this is, and what it is not

SageWork offers contemplative education and practice. It is not medical care, mental health treatment, psychotherapy, or professional advice of any kind, and it is not a substitute for any of those. No relationship of therapist and patient, or of professional and client, is created by using this site.

If you are unwell, in crisis, or under the care of a clinician, please talk to them before beginning a practice, and please keep talking to them while you do. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services.

Contemplative practice can surface difficult feelings and memories. Take it at your own pace, and stop if you need to.

10. Limits

We offer the site and everything in it as it is. We do our best to keep it available and accurate, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise any particular result from any practice.

To the fullest extent the law allows, SageWork LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

11. Ending things

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to.

If your access ends, your licence to the material ends with it. Sections 6, 9, 10, and 11 continue to apply.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will post the new version here with a new effective date, and where it affects an active membership we will tell members before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the change.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which SageWork LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of that state.
